Children who are exposed to battering become fearful and anxious.
Family violence is when someone uses abusive behaviour to control and/or harm a member of their family, or someone with whom they have an intimate relationship.
Studies show that 3-4 million children between the ages of 3-17 are at risk of exposure to domestic violence each year. The children of these women often witness the domestic violence.
There are many forms of violence, including physical, sexual, emotional and financial abuse.
The different forms of abuse can also occur in a range of relationships and contexts.
