The other day my 717 prompted me again for a firmware upgrade, which was going on for a while, so I've decided to do it.

I recon the last update was pre-15 June 2012, as directly after the update, it prompted for another update.

• Never plug or unplug an HDMI cable and Ethernet cable during updating process.

• Never unplug the AC power cord during updating process.

This would be initiated through the menu of the Denon unit.

Please be sure to turn off the HDMI control function (RIHD) on your A/V receiver before starting the update. If the update is not completed within two hours, turn off the power supply by pushing the ON/STANDBY button and then try updating again from the beginning.- Updating the firmware and adjusting the settings will be done automatically, but may take some time to complete.

Please follow the procedures as instructed when you update.

• The AV receiver will retain all your settings after update is finished. In this case, you can see the update progress on the front display of the AV receiver.

How to turn off RIHD 1 In the Main menu select “Hardware Setup”. ■Before you start • Check HDMI Control(RIHD) setting. The TV screen will reappear when you finish the update and turn on the AV receiver. ” appears on the front display of the AV receiver, indicating that the update has been completed. Now you have the latest firmware on the AV receiver.
